50+ years strong…

1973 The Beginning
A group of Engineers and Affiliates decided to form an ASPE Chapter for New Jersey.
1974 Chapter Charter

The first meetings were organized by Andy Ciffer and held at the Travelodge in Somerset, New Jersey. We held our first dinner/dance and officially received our ASPE Charter at the Suburban Hotel in Summit, New Jersey on October 19, 1974. Our Charter was presented to us by then Society President, George Runkle, Jr., P.E. The Chapter had a total membership of 37 Charter members.

1991 A New Tradition Begins

The New Jersey Chapter hosted its first Annual Golf Outing, bringing together members and industry professionals for a day of networking, camaraderie, and friendly competition. What began as a new chapter event has grown into one of NJ ASPE’s longest-running traditions.

1990's Growth & Evolution
The New Jersey Chapter grew to nearly 200 members, reflecting the continued growth and strength of the plumbing engineering community throughout the state.

Celebrating 50 Years
The New Jersey Chapter proudly celebrated its 50th Anniversary, marking five decades of education, professional development, networking, and service to the plumbing engineering community.

Looking Toward the Future
The Chapter also welcomed its first Women of ASPE (WOA) and ASPE Young Professionals (AYP) Liaisons, expanding opportunities for women and young professionals to connect, grow, and become more involved in ASPE.
